“Jessica recently celebrated her birthday in L.A. and was being openly affectionate and flirty with Marco,” a source reportedly told the New York Post. Marco is Ed’s good friend, Marco Minuto. “They ended up back at the same hotel, but nobody knows what happened behind closed doors. Her flirty behavior shocked a lot of their friends, so word quickly got back to Ed, who has been filming in Europe,” the source explained.

According to the paper, Ed did not take the news well and dumped Jessica via an emotional phone call. The actress, who reportedly denied that anything happened, was so upset that she hopped a plane from L.A. to London, hoping to win him back in person.

“She’s been begging Ed to take her back, but he is deeply hurt,” says the source. “He can’t believe that she carried on this way with one of his friends.”

Officially, this is still just speculation; Jessica’s rep denies that she cheated saying, “The story has no merit,” while Westwick’s rep declined to comment.

I’ve always liked them together; they seem to complement each other, so I hope they can work out any differences they might have. But if Gossip Girl‘s writers ever run out of plotlines, they’ve got a ready-made one right here!
