Michelle Williams Calls BFF Busy Philipps The Love of Her Life

Michelle Williams has a lot going for her, especially now that she’s garnering praise for yet another dynamic role, this time in Manchester by the Sea. (In the somber drama, Williams gives a heart-wrenching performance as a grief-stricken divorcée to leading man Casey Affleck.) In her real life offscreen, though, Michelle Williams has a lot to smile about. She’s an acclaimed actress and a mother, and she’s apparently pretty sure that she’s found the love of her life. The title belongs to none other than her best friend, Busy Philipps.

When your BFF is your soulmate, it’s kind of easier to imagine a drama-free future. Williams and Philipps have been walking the red carpet together for years, ever since they were costars on Dawson’s Creek in the early 2000s. When she spoke to People magazine, Williams said that Philipps is “proof that the love of your life does not have to be a man! That’s the love of my life right there.” She added, “I’m so in love with her.”

She told People that she’s delighted with her Golden Globes nomination, as she apparently “didn’t even expect [Manchester by the Sea] would get made.” Now she gets to enjoy her success with the best soulmate of them all.
