Here’s an Exclusive Sneak Peek at *Suits* Star Rachel Zane’s Wedding Dress

Suits fans are on the edge of their seats anxiously awaiting tonight’s finale for the verdict of Mike’s trail. The ruling will determine whether or not Mike will marry his fiancee, Rachel Zane, played by actress Meghan Markle. And though we can’t tell you how the episode plays out, we are pleased to report that the wedding dress stole the show. Take a look at Rachel-slash-Meghan in her stunning Anne Barge wedding gown from Kleinfeld in Hudson’s Bay in Canada :

Below, we chat up Meghan and Suits stylist Jolie Andreatta to find out why they said yes to this gorgeous gown.

Glamour: As a fashionista yourself, Meghan, were you able to help pick the dress?

Meghan: Absolutely! I weigh in on all of Rachel’s outfit choices because they are personal, and also because I have lived this character for five years now so I know her better than anyone. For her dress, I had to remember that her style is very classic and timeless. When I went through all of the options with Jolie and my dear friend Jessica Mulroney of Kleinfeld Hudson’s Bay in Canada, I put this one on, and it just screamed ‘Rachel.’ It is classic and fairy tale and the culmination of everything she’s been waiting for with her big day. She deserved this type of dress for this moment. Also, from a practical standpoint, I knew I would be wearing this dress for many hours of filming so this was perfect because it was lightweight and also wouldn’t wrinkle. Amazing!

Glamour: Is it a dress you’d wear at your own wedding?

Meghan: It’s not my personal style, because I’m a lot more relaxed than Rachel but I love that I got to play dress up in this gown. For TV we did have to bring the neckline up a touch per the producers request, but the original design has a low ballerina inspired neckline and I happen to love that.

Glamour: What’s your perfect wedding dress?

__Meghan:__I have the luxury of wearing beautiful pieces of clothing every day for work, so my personal style—wedding or not—is very pared down and relaxed. Classic and simple is the name of the game, perhaps with a modern twist. I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic. Delphine Manivet and Christos Costarellos are faves of mine for their uniqueness and beauty. And I will always be a fan of Ellie Saab. J. Mendel is spectacular as well, especially for more structural designs.

Glamour: Do you think that it’s bad luck when the groom sees his bride in her dress before the wedding?

Meghan: I’m very superstitious but I wouldn’t say that it’s bad luck, I would just say I prefer sticking with traditions 😉

Glamour: What is your favorite celebrity wedding dress?

Meghan: Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. Everything goals.

Glamour: Styling someone in a wedding dress is certainly a big change from the typical outfits on Suits. Were you excited to switch things up?

Jolie: Since I found out two days before we had to shoot it I was very excited! But WHAT! I didn’t know it could happen but we did it! I found out Thursday morning and we shot it Saturday morning.

Glamour: Wow! So shopping for a wedding dress for a show is not like shopping for a wedding dress in real life if you were able to pull it off that quickly?

Jolie: Shopping and tailoring! Luckily Meghan had a friend who works for Kleinfeld so it was our first and luckily last stop because they had so many different styles so we were able to get the styles that were requested plus a handful of things that were just beautiful. And they were helpful in getting the clothes to us for the fitting on Friday and luckily I have a insanely talented seamstress. Because wedding seamstresses aren’t used to turn-arounds like that and they aren’t used to chopping things up, but we have no fear. It doesn’t matter if it’s $25,000, we’re going to cut it up to make it right for camera.

Glamour: So is it harder to find the perfect dress for a show or in real life?

Jolie: Oh much harder in real life, because for one thing you’re dealing with someone who is hopefully going to do this once in her life and she’s going to be much more emotional about it.

Glamour: Who else had an input besides you and Meghan?

Jolie: Well you’re dealing with more than my taste and the actress’ taste because you’re dealing with producers for approval. But Suits has been very good to me about not needing approve things, so it stays pretty close to me and Rachel. The producer felt it was too low for a church setting so as Meghan told you, we brought the neckline up a touch and took out the straps to make it a very open V on the shoulders.

Glamour: Did the events that ensued at the wedding impact the choice of dress? {You’ll have to tune in tonight to find out what happens! }

Jolie: I probably would have put more hair ornaments if the wedding had gone as planned.
