Short hair isn’t always the most undo-friendly hair in the world, but it’s not impossible to get it to stay up either—Jaimie Alexander proved that the GQ Men of the Year Party.
The things that are helping to keep her chin-length hair in that updo:

The bun is kept low, where all her ends live anyway—if you try to pull them up too high, you’ll wind up with pieces falling out along your neck all night.
And 2) The shorter side bits in the front were twisted just above her ears to keep them in place.
Two sneaky little things, but they really do work—Jaimie got to wear an undo, and she didn’t even have to resort to sticking in hair extensions like so many short-haired ladies do on the red carpet.
