Emma Stone Talks Hair and Makeup Tricks + Dealing With Her ?Alien Eyes? (Her Words!)
Emma Stone is the stuff girl crushes are made of—gorgeous, smart, and hilarious. Now the star of next year’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 plays our beauty game. (Rewatch Superbad, by the way—she had it going on even back then!)
My beauty routine: On my own time, I usually just wear mascara and fill in my eyebrows. And a bit of moisturizer.
Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious Volume + Length Mascara, $8, ulta.com
Beauty trend I avoid: I look really, really terrible with nude lipstick—kind of like I’ve been dead for five years. Because I’m so pale, there’s some stuff that’s just weird on me. I look like a ghost.
My favorite spa service: Facials. I go to Joanna Vargas in New York City for her Power Peel. She’s amazing. Product that brings me joy: Sunscreen—EltaMD UV Shield SPF 45 [$27, eltamd.com for retailers]. I’m grateful that sunblock exists; otherwise, I’d be screwed.
My most cringeworthy beauty moment: Acrylic nails with tips…for, like, three years when I was a teenager. A lot of spray tans. A lot of raccoon eyes. I kind of ran the gamut.
My favorite guy-grooming look: The less, the better. I like beards, anything masculine. I don’t like a man in a ponytail.
Hair color I relate to the most: Redhead, even though I am a true blond.
If I weren’t me, I’d want to look like: Oh God, if I could look like anybody—oof—Marion Cotillard. Oh my God.
My ultimate red-carpet stylist: Mara Roszak. If I look at my hair, it wilts, so I need her help.
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in, from left, Lovesick, Romantic, and Sweetheart, $9 each, ulta.com
My drugstore essentials: I really like Revlon Lash Potion mascara, but I also love their lip crayons in bright pink and red shades. And Burt’s Bees lip balm.
My DIY beauty trick: Olive oil—I slather it on my face and body all the time.
Pasolivo Olive Oil, $29, pasolivo.com; Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, $3.50, smallflower.com
My favorite scent: I love jasmine. I also really love citrusy notes.
Minutes I spend on beauty in a day: Somewhere around 10 minutes. If I have to blow-dry my hair, then tack on an extra 20 minutes.
My favorite stay-fit food: I’ve been making smoothies lately. I have a Vitamix; it’s a game changer. I put in this vitamin-y green powder with bananas, frozen berries, and coconut water. I really like the at-home smoothie situation.
Moment I feel the most beautiful: When I’m at peace in any situation.
__My favorite “flaw”: __Flaws are my favorite part of people usually. There’s nothing I love more than a good facial scar.
I’ve lied about: I lied about my height to get on a roller coaster when I was a kid. Then I got on the roller coaster, and I was like, “I am certainly going to die.” I was too short; it was a really bad idea.
