Forget Ombre Hair Color—These Highlights (as Seen on the Gorgeous Nikki Reed) Are What I’m Feeling Right Now

I know some of you might look at this picture of Nikki Reed’s hair color and think ombre, but her highlights actually don’t quite qualify for me. Here’s why:

The color change isn’t subtle—it’s really more hand-painted streaks than a gradual fade to a lighter shade (like, say, Lauren Conrad’s color). But I love that they’re so bold and at the ends of her hair—looks exactly like she was out in the sun last summer for days and then let it grow out. And not that we’ve never seen this kind of thing before, but with all the subtle lightening we’ve seen going on for the past year or so, it’s nice to see something a little chunkier.

Anyone else feeling this hair color technique right now? Or am I alone out here?
