Julia Roberts: Queen of the Barely There Makeup Look

Remember how we kept saying that the “no makeup” makeup thing was everywhere this past Fashion Week? This pretty, soft look Julia Roberts wore to the LAByrinth Theater Company’s 6th Annual Gala Benefit last night was about a half step up from that and totally perfect for when you want to look pulled together without going all dramatic. I’ll break it down for ya.

Just a touch of peach blush, nothing on her lips as far as I can tell, and on her eyes…

A bit of sparkle and mascara, but nothing too obvious. In fact, I’d argue that an eyelash curler is really the most important element here, not the mascara.

My extra-special tip: When you’re going barely there, the secret to looking “done” and not just “I’m not wearing makeup” is to control your shine. So when you go for this look, have a little oil-absorbing powder on hand or use a mattifying cream. So key.
