Kylie Jenner Got a New Short Bob!

Unless you’ve been taking a social media detox today (lol), you probably know that the 2016 Met Gala is under way. And all night long—and likely well into tomorrow—we’ll be here keeping tabs on all the celebrity beauty moves on the red carpet. The theme? Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, so it’s about to get real futuristic up in here. (Our early predictions involve lots of metallics and at least one case of silver hair.)

But before we can even get into all that, there’s one pressing look we need to talk about: Kendall Jenner’s. We got a sneak peek at the back of her head—or so we assume—via Estée Lauder’s Snapchat (she’s the face of the brand), and it looks like she’s either gone very short and very blond, or she’s rocking one heck of a wig tonight. As one keen observer put it: “It looks like a blond Kris Jenner.” Yeah, we’re guessing wig. If this is any indication as to what her makeup is going to look like, it’s safe to assume Twitter is going to blow up about it.

Update 8 P.M.: Sigh. It looks like Estée pulled a fast one on Snapchat. Kendall Jenner arrived to the red carpet wearing a slicked-back ponytail. Which, we suppose, actually isn’t a sigh of sadness, but rather relief. Although we would have loved to see what Kendall with a blond Kris cut would have looked like.

And in other Jenner hair news, Kylie made her first-ever Met Gala appearance, and true to form, she shocked us…in the sense that nobody thought she’d arrive with a look so understated and elegant. Check out her bob (another wig, we’re assuming, though it’s hard to tell):
