See How Doll-Like Eye Makeup Works IRL

As part of my job as a beauty assistant at Glamour, I look through a lot of backstage Fashion Week imagery, but I’m always curious to see how the hair and makeup looks from the runway translate in real life. Here goes my attempt to re-create a specific trend! First up, the doll-like dots and baby blue eyeshadow Clé de Peau Beauté makeup artist Lucia Pieroni created for the Rochas spring 2015 show.

Step 1: Always start with a fresh, clean face and apply as much moisturizer as you need.

Step 2: Touch up any problem areas with a tinted moisturizer, foundation, or concealer for even coverage and a dewy glow. Here, I used Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 ($44, macys.com).

Step 3: Apply a frosty blue shadow like Clé de Peau Beauté Satin Eye Color in Aquamarine ($45, cledepeaubeaute.com) over the entirety of each lid.

Step 4: Make eyes appear wider and brighter by highlighting the inner corners with a crayon. We like Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Champagne Shimmer ($25, sephora.com).

Step 5: Don’t be afraid to load up on the mascara for super-thick, slightly clumpy lashes. I used four coats of Touch in Sol Stretchex Stretch Lash Effect Mascara ($22, sephora.com) here.

Step 6: The toughest part of this look is getting the dots under the eyes centered and symmetrical. After a few failed attempts, I found the best method was to line up each dot directly below my pupils. Use a liquid eyeliner like Maybelline New York Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner in Black ($4.79, target.com) for a precise application. You can also use the tip of your mascara wand in a pinch.

Step 7: Finish off the look with a touch of pink lip gloss (try Clinique Long Last Glosswear in Air Kiss, $16, nordstrom.com), and ta-da…
