The New Way to Brighten Up Your Brunette Hair This Spring

Nothing like some long-awaited spring sunshine to get a girl craving fresh highlights in her hair. Randomly scattered streaks or full ombre aren’t your only options; here are three examples of a new hair color trend for spring 2015—it’s all about dramatically lighter, face-framing blond pieces.

1. Jessica Alba

Instead of her standard dark roots/light tips ombre, the actress/entrepreneur’s long bob now pops brighter toward the front, thanks to chunky pale-blond sections on either side of her face.

2. Sarah Jessica Parker

Likewise for current Glamour co-cover girl SJP, who wore her hair flatironed for her appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman this week, letting us better appreciate the nuances of her color. Note the symmetrical face-framing blond streaks (much skinnier than Alba’s), in addition to a dramatic light-to-dark transition from roots to ends. The ombre vibes are still strong with this one.

When the model posed for photos in Japan yesterday, we noticed she too has some face-framing golden highlights happening in her otherwise darker brunette hair this spring. So pretty, right?
