Vanessa Hudgens’ Wonder Woman–Inspired Eye Makeup Is Too Good

It’s hard to overstate the influence of Wonder Woman. The first-ever woman-directed superhero movie is kicking ass at the box office—and in our hearts. So we left the theater ready to channel Diana Prince in any way we can. The furthest we got was googling “kickboxing+krav maga+fencing class,” but with her team of glam-creators, Vanessa Hudgens just did us one better. The actress took the movie’s aesthetic to her very lids, going for a golden, metallic, armor-inspired eye look for Moschino’s resort show that would easily fit in with the Amazons.

Where bloggers like NikkieTutorials chose to go classic comic book for their homage, Hudgens opted for an updated take. She showed up to the show—which also coincidentally was unitard central—in a breast-plate-esque minidress, with a beauty vibe her makeup artist, Allan Avendaño, described as “nineties supermodel meets Wonder Woman.”

Her eyeshadow is fittingly super, featuring a gradient of gold and red shadow that ended in a platinum wing. Avendaño didn’t refer to the wing as a Lasso of Truth, but we’re going there—that undeniable glow, plus the circular shape? The wing’s flick? We’re reading into it.

Paired with her blurred skin, golden highlight, and balmy lips, the focus was all eyes (fans who analyzed Diana’s look in-depth noted that the hero rarely dabbled in lip colors, sticking instead with a balm or light pink tint). The nineties aspect came from Hudgens’ hairstylist, Chad Wood, who concocted up a loose, glamorous wave with a slightly wet finish.

In a fortunate, weirdly timed turn of events, the hues Avendaño used are right in line with the Naked Heat palette we’ve been obsessing over for the last two days. The allure of sunset eyes, plus the image of Diana emerging from fire to catch bullets and take names? Just another reason to add it to our hoard.
