We Spy a Celebrity Pedicure Trend: Black and Nude (Would You Try This?)

The annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic offers a chance for us to see some of our favorite stars get all preppy-pretty, but this year’s event also gave us a peek at a nail polish trend. You can see it in this group shot of Dakota Johnson, Julianne Moore, Lupita Nyong’o, Olivia Munn, Behati Prinsloo, and Busy Philipps.

Dakota’s and Julianne’s toes aren’t showing, but if you look at the rest of the ladies’ feet, you’ll notice that all are wearing either pale or black nail polish. Lupita’s blue-black polish and Olivia’s nude both match their shoes, while Busy’s dark polish contrasts her tan-and-white sandals. Behati’s nails appear to be a sheer grayish nude, to match her suit.

Granted, this is a conservative, buttoned-up sort of event, so I wouldn’t necessarily expect to see beachy hot pink pedicures, but I’m still surprised that everyone went for black and nude. You’d think there’d at least be some classic cherry red in there, or some plum or pink.
