‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Is Coming Back Very Soon—Here’s What We Know
I hope you’re ready, Bachelor Nation: Soon, Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette—which has included two problematic contestants and, like, 2,000 injuries—will be over, and we’ll move on to Bachelor in Paradise. That’s no shade toward Kufrin, by the way. She just deserves way better than the wood-chopping dudes she has to pick from this season, and we deserve more too—like a dozen reality stars navigating sunburns and bug bites on Bachelor in Paradise.
It will be interesting to see what happens on Bachelor in Paradise this season following the controversy last year surrounding Corinne Olympios, DeMario Jackson, and questions of consent. That situation started some necessary conversations, and a new two-drink-per-hour rule was instituted. Hopefully the show can move forward and be the (ethical) hot mess that’s delighted us for four seasons.
Season five is already shaping up to be entertaining. I mean, Jared Haibon and Ashley Iaconetti literally get engaged during it. At the beach! On camera! I support that choice 100 percent, by the way; get your pre spon-con payday, Ashley and Jared.
Here’s everything we know about Bachelor in Paradise season five:
It’s returning on Tuesday, August 7. This means The Bachelorette season finale will most likely air on Monday, August 6.
The two drink/per hour rule. TMZ reported last July that Bachelor in Paradise producers started limiting contestants’ alcohol consumption to two drinks per hour in light of the Corinne and DeMario situation. Whether or not this will carry over to the new season hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s certainly something to keep an eye out for. In fact, Us Weekly reports there are now several new Bachelor in Paradise rules in place because of last year.
Ashley and Jared will get engaged. People magazine broke this story on Monday (June 18) with a photo from Paradise of Jared on one knee. Ashley was very happy, as was Twitter. I hope she and Jared’s very sharp chin have a lovely life together.

The cast is still a mystery—but Joe the Grocery Store Owner might appear. He was a fan favorite from Kufrin’s Bachelorette season who was unjustly eliminated on night one. The Internet was devastated, but Chris Harrison hinted after Joe’s cut that he may appear on Bachelor in Paradise. “I hope they have grocery stores in Paradise!!!” Harrison tweeted. Don’t play with our hearts, man. Joe and his produce puns deserve a chance at love!

Wells Adams will make an appearance, as will Yuki from Bachelor Winter Games. That’s what this new tweet suggests, at least.
