As we wait on pins and needles for Gilmore Girls: Seasons to finally premiere on Netflix, we can’t help but obsess over all of the clues that are coming out of Stars Hollow that offer a peek what may or may not happen. For example, we know that all three of Rory’s exes—Dean (Jared Padalecki), Jess (Milo Ventimiglia), and Logan (Matt Czuchry)—are all returning. But what we don’t know is what their story lines are and what place they now have in Rory’s life. Is Rory getting back together with any of them? Is the wedding we suspect that’s taking place between Rory and one of these guys or is it Lorelai and Luke?

Well, Padalecki, who played Rory’s (Alexis Bledel) first love Dean, has revealed probably a little more than he was supposed to about—spoiler alert—his one and only scene on the upcoming GG revival. At a Supernatural convention (the show he famously left GG to go star on), he revealed, “I will say probably a lot more than I’m supposed to. [Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino] basically said, ‘Listen, we’re going to write you a really cool scene, and if you get a day off let us know—we will just put your scene on the schedule for that day.’ She was like, ‘It’s a set that we already run and own, [and] it’s an actress that already is working every day, so let us know. So Dean has a cool scene in the market he used to work at. It’s a nice, a really nice scene that gave me closure.”

So, here’s what we can deduce from that reveal: Most likely, Rory is not getting back together with Dean. But we have a feeling that the actress who “is already working every day” has to be Bledel and that it will be a really satisfying reunion for those of us who felt Dean’s departure from the original series was too abrupt. Padalecki also agrees that he was hoping to see more closure between Dean and Rory: “I never had closure. One day I was an actor on Gilmore Girls, and the next day I had a TV show [Supernatural] and would never again be on Gilmore Girls. So for me, as a person, it was weird because I was like ‘What about Dean?’ So it was fun to go wrap it up in a really cool way.”

You can watch Padeleckli adorably talk about coming back to Stars Hollow in the video below at the 3:16 mark!
