You’ll Never Guess What Voldemort Wears Under His Robes
Lord Voldemort may look menacing and like pure evil incarnate, but, as it turns out, he has a soft spot for frilly pretty things. Ralph Fiennes, who plays the dark lord in the Harry Potter films, appeared on the Graham Norton Show this week and revealed that underneath all the “flowing silky stuff” he wore on the silver screen, some unlikely lingerie lurked underneath.
“I had these tights on underneath, and they were ladies’ tights,” Fiennes told the audience. “What happened was, the tights used to work their way down, so the gusset of the tights was sort of around my knees, so I couldn’t walk as elegantly as I would like as Voldemort. So eventually I said to the dresser—he’s called Neil, he’s very sweet, he always had his head up my skirt trying to adjust things—would he mind cutting them off so I had a garter belt. So for more of Harry Potter, underneath the robes, I had very nice garter belts.”
You may never look at pure evil the same way again.
