Bow Down to Cameron Diaz, Our Glamour Style Icon of the Week

Cameron Diaz is the whole package. She’s smart, funny, hot, ultra successful, and she’ll always have a special place in my heart. Because she charmed in The Mask and she spiked her bangs with Ben Stiller’s “hair gel” in There’s Something About Mary and she taught us lessons in female bonding in The Sweetest Thing (I really enjoyed it, OK?) and she behaved fabulously inappropriately in Bad Teacher (I could go on and on). And along the way, she’s always nailed it on the red carpet. (See her recent home runs during The Other Woman promo tour and her adorably spot-on Saint Laurent minidress at a photo call for the upcoming Sex Tape—HEARTS!)

The A-lister can do edgy, experimental, ladylike, hipster, old-Hollywood glam, you name it. But whatever style she’s working, Cameron always just seems like she’s having an amazingly fun time—and that’s what fashion’s all about, right? So in honor of all the times she’s made us smile and for her latest movie premiere, may we present Cameron Diaz as our Glamour Style Icon of the Week.

At the 2003 Golden Globes, Cammie showed off her perpetually killer legs in an ultra-mini Chanel Haute Couture lace dress and transparent heels—as if her stems need any lengthening tricks. Miles of bare leg, intentionally mussed hair, and one strategically fallen slip strap made for a memorably ultra-sexy, high-fashion statement.

True to her former modeling career (Seventeen cover model, yo!), Cameron is an effortless style chameleon. At the 2008 Oscars, the star exuded ladylike old-Hollywood glamour in an elegantly draped Christian Dior gown and a blinding earrings and cocktail ring set by Bulgari.

Cameron went for the gilded effect on the 2010 Academy Awards red carpet. She absolutely stunned in a dreamy Oscar de la Renta champagne tulle gown glimmering with gold paillette embroidery.

Yes, Cameron wears a floor-length gown like a boss, but it really should be a crime to hide her pretty much perfect legs. I mean…at the Bad Teacher Moscow premiere in 2011, she gave the world motivation to start up some Pilates reformer classes in a sequined Emilio Pucci shift dress and Lanvin platform ballet pumps.

In 2012 at the What to Expect When You’re Expecting premiere, Cam went minimalist and monochrome in a Stella McCartney strapless jumpsuit. Seriously though: #FREECAMERONSLEGS.

At the 2013 punk-themed Met Gala, the style star mixed both regal and rebel in a brilliant cobalt blue caped gown by Stella McCartney. If you look carefully, you’ll see she brought in luxe subversiveness with a gold spiked belt. Hence, I imagine that the evening was full of fashiony lean-in air kisses, as opposed to close, intimate bear hugs. Ouch.

cameron diaz the row black leather dress 2014

Earlier this year at the London premiere of The Other Woman, Cameron put everyone on the red carpet—and possibly the universe—to shame while absolutely KILLING IT in this body-con black leather dress by The Row. This, ladies and gentlemen, is how you wear an LBD.

And she made a pair of jeans look as glam as couture (again, those legs…). Especially when she paired her skinnies by Frame Denim with a double-breasted blazer by The Row and accessorized with sparkly pumps by Isabel Marant. Perfection.

Which look is our favorite? For me it’s a tie between the Chanel lace minidress from 2003 and the super-hot leather dress by The Row in 2014. I really need to figure out Cameron’s workout routine.
