Miley Cyrus On “Britain’s Got Talent”: Is She Dressing Too Sexy For A 17-Year-Old?

Miley Cyrus wants to make one thing very, very clear to her fans: She’s not Hannah Montana anymore.

The 17-year-old pop star has been dressing in a series of increasingly provocative outfits in both her performances and her personal life, including the undeniably sexy number she wore to perform last night on Britain’s Got Talent (above). Her black leather leotard, ripped fishnet stockings, and spiky high-heel boots were all a far cry from the do-gooder Disney image fans first got familiar with back in 2006. The performance also included what the Daily Mail is calling “a simulated lesbian kiss,” when she leaned in and pretended to lock lips with a female dancer.

Miley’s definitely not a little girl any more–look no further than her trading “The Climb” for her racy new single “Can’t Be Tamed” for proof of that–but some critics are worried that the teenager is setting an over-sexualized example for her young fans. It started with her pole dancing performance at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards and has continued into her recent bout of barely-there outfits, including last night’s. Do you ladies think that Miley is dressing too sexy for someone who hasn’t reached legal voting age yet? Do you think her previous image, as a more squeaky-clean Disney star, was more appropriate? Would you let your 17-year-old daughter dress this provocatively? What if she were a performer, like Miley? What does a celebrity’s wardrobe say about the image they’re trying to put forward? Is she dressing too sexy for a 17-year-old? Discuss!
