Joan Smalls Is the Face of Your New Favorite Swim Brand

Model Joan Smalls is the new face of swimwear brand Smart & Sexy and the images are so gorgeous, we can’t get enough. Shot on the beach by photographer Chris Colls and styled by industry legend Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, the campaign depicts Smalls looking stronger and more flawless than ever before.

Smalls is, of course, no stranger to being scantily clad, having walked in six Victoria’s Secret fashion shows and starred in the brand’s television swim special. But in Smart & Sexy, she shines like never before.

“Getting the right fit in swim is the most important,” Joan told us. “The way a garment supports and sculpts you makes all of the difference in the world.” Support from swimwear can be a tall order, but Smart & Sexy tops are sized like bras, so you can find exactly the right band and cup size—from 32A to 38DDD—so long, limited sizing.

Originally a lingerie company, Smart & Sexy expanded into swimwear with solutions just like that in mind. Smart & Sexy CEO Ariela Balk says: “The mission was simple—create gorgeous silhouettes and pieces that are highly engineered and body sculpting and deliver them to the consumer at an extremely competitive price point.” That’s certainly a set of building blocks we can get behind.

The current collection, on sale now, was inspired by Smalls. “I was inspired to create a core collection in a nude palette that would enhance her natural beauty,” Balk says.
