Victoria’s Secret Angel Romee Strijd Shares Her On-the-Go Fitness and Health Tips—and Her Killer Banana Bread Recipe

If you follow the Dutch 20-year-old Victoria’s Secret Angel, Romee Strijd, on any of her social media channels, you’ve probably noticed (1.) her contagious smile, (2.) her cool-girl style, and (3.) her incredibly active and healthy lifestyle. From her intense workouts to her homemade breakfast bowls and yummy brunches, she’s found the perfect balance that allows her to be a foodie while still remaining health-conscious. With her constantly changing schedule and crazy hours, we’re even more impressed by how she whips up gourmet dishes and goes out for fun meals with friends after a sweaty workout—but the question is, how does she do it? We decided to ask Romee herself. Read on:

What are some of your health tips for women on-the-go?I think the most important thing for women on-the-go is to be prepared. I really like to prepare my day the night before if I know the next day is going to be hectic. Brussels sprouts and butternut roasted in the oven, paired with chicken and hummus is my favorite! I’ll also make sure to bring healthy snacks or make a lunch/dinner box if I am getting on a plane. (I’m not a huge fan of airline food.)

Yum! What’s your favorite healthy and quick food to munch on for a snack?Banana bread! Once a week I make a healthy banana bread, slice it up, and store it in the fridge. And I always throw one slice in my bag on the way out! I’ll send you my recipe. (She did! See below:)

What are your favorite workouts to get bikini body ready for this summer?I’m always changing my workouts because I get bored so easily with the same routines. I like to do a mix of weight training/cardio and something that lengthens your muscles, like Pilates, yoga, or barre. My favorite cardio workout is definitely boxing so, when I’m not traveling, I go to Dogpound in NYC! And when I am traveling, I like to pack a jump rope and ankle weights in my suitcase.

What’s your favorite VS Sport piece to workout in?The Victoria Secret Sport Knockout Sport bra! I can wear it for any workout: Yoga, boxing, and lifting weights. I also love the color-blocking and mixing neon colors! If you look good, you feel good—especially when working out.

You and Jasmine Tookes are the ultimate workout duo, do you think it benefits to have a workout buddy?Definitely! Sometimes, when I don’t feel like working out, she’ll push me to go, and the same can be said the other way around! It also helps to plan a fun breakfast or lunch after a workout as something to look forward to.

Totally agree! Any tips to help women feel healthy, happy, and confident this summer?Do what makes you happy. I think the most attractive thing to see is a woman who is happy! For me, I feel happy and healthy when I am cooking for friends and family and enjoy a long dinner with nice conversations.
