This Is Happening: Channing Tatum Is Blond

You are now living in a time in which Channing Tatum is blond. We know, it’s hard to process, but it’s true. And he looks oddly good as one—and we don’t mean in the Vanilla Ice sort of way he sported back in his stripping days.

This switch is a bit of a surprise. He’s in Peru right now for seven days to perform duties as ambassador of medicinal plants in the Amazon with the Runa Foundation, so a hair color switch wasn’t something we thought we’d see during the trip. Perhaps the sun bleached it because his eyebrows appear to be lighter too. Regardless of how this happened, we’re not hating it. OK, yes, he does look a bit like the rapper Macklemore and less like the leading man we’ve come to know and love. And it does sort of break our hearts that he and his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum are no longer matching in their brunette status (have you seen his picture of her without makeup? Breathtaking). But, hey, if he can gyrate to “Pony” while holding a serious face, this man can do anything, even pull off light hair. But as long as he’s still willing to hold on to that promise of always getting naked in his films, he can dye his strands any shade he wants.

And speaking of the Magic Mike XXL producer, here are seven facts you didn’t know about him, and you’ll never ever guess which reality star used to be his roommate.

Oh, and remember when his wife went blond? This couple is so versatile in the hair color department.
