Two Tricks That’ll Give You Anne Hathaway’s Sexy Rock-Star Hair Texture
We’ve talked about the gorgeous dark-purple manicure Anne Hathaway had at the 2013 National Board of Review Awards Gala–but how about the new way she’s styling her short hair?
(I’m sure some of our commenters are going to sound like moms everywhere and tell Anne to get her hair out of her eyes, and sure, for non red-carpet purposes, most of us would probably style those bangs a bit more out of the way. But still: Her hair looks so great, right?)
I happen to have some awesome styling tips courtesy of the man behind Anne’s look, Sascha Breuer. To add an edge to Anne’s chic Saint Laurent tux, “We decided to give the hair a messy and very textured feel and styled her longer, now more grown-out fringe to sweep casually to the side, gently grazing her face,” Breuer says. Here’s his how-to, which includes two key tricks to her sexy rock-star texture:

“Blow-dry your hair and shape it slightly with your hands, after spraying a little bit of Wella Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray or salt water spray for added ‘gut’.”

Once the hair is completely dry, flat-iron individual sections add some rocker-chic texture. “I really like the Braun Satin Hair Straightener, as it allows you to adjust the temperature and personalize it to the needs of your hair,” Breuer says.

Mist some salt spray directly on your fingers and use it to define single strands. This way, the spray won’t weigh your hair down but will give you staying power and texture.
